I met you this weekend and was in Swim 1. I definitely had it a bit easier in the shallow end than you guys did in the deeps! I managed 2 out, with one being a new PB at 31lb 6oz. ๐ช
This time of the year the kids are going back to school and college so they stop cutting weeds. I have to fish at least fifteen feet deep to avoid weeds in a few weeks so my fishing will change.
Wanted to order some baits but not much other than apex for barbel fishing(as thatโs mainly all I do)need to get some more pellets on the store and some Action on rivers.
little tip for zigs, on black foam i add a white fake maggott, had my pb using this wen bites on bottom wasnt happening, but u would of put money on them feeding on bottom, it was low pressure and drizzling fishing 16 foot water so i evantually found them at 4 foot from surface, i had 4 fish on them zigs
I've been watching this channel from the early days, I remember the first video I watched of Joe as a boy and some young friends fishing at Little Shearwater, I loved the mystery, the absolute chaos and the shear excitement of that film – I caught my first ever carp from Little Shearwater in the late 60's when I was still at school (I'm old! ) and his video brought back some fond memories of those lakes fishing there in the school summer holidays – towards the end of Joe's time at Carpology I thought he'd lost a bit of his sparkle and soon after he left to focus on this channel and now he seems more like his old self which is so nice to see. Long may it continue!
For zigs id start fising high as possible just beneeth the surface,, as carp have eyes on top of the head and they are also swimming very high.. so going 4 feet down is useless.. Id start 1inch under the surface or better yet on the surface if ducks or guls are no issue.
I am not a zig lover,at all,i used to do it many years ago,and had a few, used to use an old black flip flop, and cut interesting insect looking shapes out of the foam, this was long before adjustables, great vid mate, itd be called catching not fishing if we all emptied lakes everytime we went, keep it up joe โค

Never had much faith in zigs, I should really attempt using them more in my fishing
May have to switch baits then๐ loggies lake is 15min from my house ๐ฃ๐ฃ
The Korda adjustable are hard to see at distance in wind.
Whatcha think of the venue? One thatโs on my radar.

So i just learned something new. Never thought of it to tie a small hair and used baitfloss to tie a popup against the hook. ๐
