This is one of the best videos Iโve seen. The classic tangle, twisted and trying to keep the fish on, love that it wasnโt edited shows how human we all are no matter what skill level fisherman you are. Thanks for the great video
Iโm out here banging them on a rooster tail with a single barbless hook. Zero bait allowed where Iโm at.
13 in a 3 hour day.
60$ rod and reel with tackle. Managed a Bully on a 6lb test where our local glacier stream hit the lake. 7lb fish that snapped me off right at my feet. But landed all the same
Idk what kind of settings you got on your camera but the footage looks extremely choppy almost like stop motion. You might have it set to 24fps instead of 30
kind of a pansy, using scissors to cut the worm and to get the powerbait out of the jar? you must like to pick your nose a lot. Fish loose line with bair….let the line droop so then you can just watch for the line taking off and straightening out. Gives you time to get ready to set the hook and allows the fish to get the hook in a better position. For powerbait I use size 16 treble. After hooking and landing the fish, I cut the line with the hook still in the fish (Im keeping the fish) and get the hook back when I clean the fish.
Crazy to see that you're fishing from Kress Lake. I live like 10 minutes from it. I take my boys there all the time. I'm going to have to try some of these methods, our luck out there is pretty bad. Blue Gills for days though. We want the fun trout.
I think you can catch a fish with ur bare hands in this virgin lakes man. There must be tousands of them. Still best tutorial i have seen so far thanks
A bumper? Never in my life I've heard a leader called a bumper. Overall a good tutorial for the novice angler. Im only commenting because of the fish brain app add at the beginning. Nothing has been worse for fishing than YouTube influencers burning fishing spots, ie telling the world where a great fishing spot is. And apps like fishbrain. If you did some scouting and recon to find a good spot, why would you tell a ton of people you don't even know where you caught fish. Lamebrain is what that is. New anglers please don't burn fishing spots on social media. Showing up at your secret spot at dawn and finding someone else there because of an app only benefits the app creators not the angler.
With a powerbait rig put a plastic craft bead after putting on the egg sinker and tying the swivel. This reduces tension on the swivel side of the line and prevents lines/rigs from snapping then hooked or snagged.
I have some questions. Iโm relatively new to trout fishing and was wondering if the power bait/eggs would work under a bobber. Wouldnโt the weight of the hook keep it down? And do you recommend trout magnets and if so what color?
I had a question about fishing rods. I haven't gone fishing since I was a child, so I wanted to ask, what is an affordable but good fishing rod is set up that I can get at Walmart or Cabela's. Also, in your opinion what is a good fishing line for trout.
This is a great video. Almost all the fishing videos I've watched give a cursory nod to the technique, but you don't see the actual bait or lure or fly. You don't see the leader or learn what test it is or how long it is. You see a lot of fish being caught but rarely see exactly what their setup is.
This is the best trout video Iโve seen by far. I always wanted to catch a trout but never did. Most of the videos out there would show the rig then right to them getting the fish but never explain how each rig works and what they do in the water. Great work!

Great video. Gonna hit a local lake today that's stocked with Rainbow Trout. Just subscribed and will get back to you. Thanks for the great content!
I like using nymph jigs
There are many lakes where you can't use treble hooks. Some even restrict barbed hooks and scented bait.
Excellent and entertaining!!
This guy is so entertaining ๐๐
15:24 me every single time I go fishing. ๐๐๐

A treble is a cheat code. Any bait? Same deal.
Thanks my knigge
Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for the tips. I was a little surprised to recognize Kress Lake, where I plan to fish!

6lb test mono, no leader, 1000 reel 5โ6 on the spinner setup. Iโve caught some very large trout on this setup
This is exactly the kind of fishing information I have been looking for for years. Thank you for the details you shared!
how did you get that poward bait?
cool video. do you ever use your ear hairs for bait? what about nose hairs and boogards?
instead of tieing a direct knot from braid to mono could u js use a swivel and extra mono line or no?

This is one of the most entertaining… and yeah informative videos I've watched in a long time.. it was fun if nothing else.๐

I love your videos and today I used what I picked up from you and absolutely killed it so thank you bro for all your amazing advice!!!
How long should I be leaving my pole in the water for the 3rd method ?

๐ that snag situation ' it sucker's I've been there. Keep it real

Thank you. This was very helpful. Appreciate your time and knowledge.

I swear there are fish stocked to the brimb everywhere but where i live ๐ข. Rule #1. Fish a lake stocked with fish

I caught 1 rainbow trout through the iice now im addicted ๐
Thanks!
What lake is that?
ALL TALK AND NO ACTION. IN THIS SHOW, IS THE FIRST TIME I SAW TO CATCH ONE TROUT. ONLY WORDS, BUT NO FISHES.

Havenโt fished for trout in 30 years. I really appreciate your tutorials. Now letโs see if this old dog can still fish in the 21st century.
I need ppl to fish with in VA
had no idea you were local to me. i recognize that outhouse anywhere
Love the way you explained this.
Not everyone has the confidence to want to tie the knot. ๐
Great video
Love the videos. I just started fishing after a 40 year break. The basic tutorials you provide are just what I need. Thank you
