It is a beautiful reel, a little louder click than the Ross Animus, did you have any trouble with the drag knob, I couldn't turn mine and email sent from Saga's web sight hos no response to my question on the drag… it is a sweet reel…Thanks for the Review

These reels are reminiscent of the old SAGE 5000 series reels of yesteryear with definite improvements. Possibly an answer to Ross's New model Gunnison. I think it might be a comparableΒ reel than theΒ Gunnison. Definitely lighter and in more than one color.

Is it drop proof? So many reels these days can't stand a knock and they should be able to. We go out into the wilds and stumble over bloody rocks and God knows what else and reel manufacturers come out with state of the art, complicated equipment. Tolerances are so fine that if you "upset " the things you have the devil of a time trying to realign them.. It is usually a fruitless exercise.

Fly fishing is crazy. I just upgraded from my Cabela's Bighorn combo to a Redington Zero and Hydrogen setup. It feels like a Ferrari compared to the Bighorn combo. And to think that there are reels that cost as much as my new setup and are considered "mid grade".
