I have 3 females to one male platys but no babies. I once had Mollies and one gave birth to hundreds of babies I couldn't believe how many there were they completely filled the 10 gallon tank.

So I've been breeding for about a year now and I have came up with I believe my own personal strain. Started with a green lantern/pineapple with a sunset/red wagon and I've gotten fry that grown to look like Autumn leaves. They are awesome big and healthy I've never seen any like it yet was wondering if you have ever seen any that look like the colors of a pile of fall leaves after they dropped

    Great info as usual!

The platys at my local big box store always have ick, or awful bacterial infections of some sort. They always have clamped fins and look awful.

I have a very nice independent store about a 45 minute drive from me, and their tanks and plants look amazing, plus their selection is far better.

Only problem is, their platys are raised in and kept in brackish tanks. I only keep freshwater tanks, since I love to keep plants.

Does anybody know how long it takes to acclimate brackish fish to freshwater? Can it be done safely and easily?

I have a solo sunburst wag tail platty male with a group of mollies. I feel like getting him a few girlfriends but it seems like I have a good amount of fish in my 75. I have 22 fish in their and I plan on getting 6 Corydoras. Would this be too crowded?

If anyone would be willing to help. I'm new to caring for freshwater fish and currently have 3 comet goldfish in a 45 gallon tank. I've read online that at this size I should be able to care for more fish and that platy make great tank mates. However with my limited knowledge I just want to make sure that by adding 3-4 platy to my tank that the fish will infact be able to coexist well, or would this be a poor idea. Any advice is welcomed thank you

Dude I have some wild colored platy fish. I have selected certain colors. Mine look spray painted with color which is cool. I have done the same with guppy's. I have breed them for the last year and they are getting smaller and smaller. I'm going for them to be similar to endler, but not endler.
