He’s not telling her what she’s doing wrong when on the backcast she moves the rod way past 1 or 2 o’clock. She’s not really making a backcast , just waving the rod behind and forward. He’s not really showing her the right mechanics for the backcast, which means she won’t make a good forward cast.
He casts using the rid sideways…the rod is designed with a spine and he completely wastes the benefits the rod has to offer. Maybe a great guide but not a good casting instructor.
Again, another guide not teaching you how to double haul. That "another technique ", was the double haul that guides don't teach their clients because they think it's too hard for beginners. When they try to teach you by showing you, they are double hauling. That's why they can cast with very little effort. You can too, just try and you will enjoy fly fishing more.

I found I had to do more of a one -stop-two one-stop-two to give the line time to stream out behind and load the rod
