you are a joke you allready had the tip preped and not showing how to properly remove the exess glue then align the new tip with a small dowel through the eyelets 😂 hope people looked on to other videos

Years ago, glue that came with tips actually held. New tips come with glue that doesn't hold. I use super glue. What am I going to do when guide breaks again? Don't know!

A drill gauge also works well for measuring the diameter of the tip of the rod, so you know what the ID of the replacement Rod Tip should be. Take the drill gauge to the end of the rod, w/o a tip on it and see which hole it fits best in on the drill gauge and you'll have your measurement.

Gene, great video…..just what I was looking for! However I have not attempted to do it yet lol. Just went out fishing today and noticed my line had massive abrasions seemingly throughout the whole line. I knew something wasn't right. I look at my rod tip and it's chipped causing a sharp edge.👎🏻 No question my rod tip needs replaced but do all rod tips come off this way? I assume it's just epoxy holding it, that being said gorilla glue sells a small epoxy syringe tube at Walmart for $5 would this be good to use? My rod is a St. Croix. Thanks gene!
