just wanted to say thanks for the video. Just finished repairing one of my rod guides. I messed up a bit though when I removed the old guide. Made three cuts into the rod itself. Tried to repair it with epoxy before I attached the guide. Hopefully it will not crack.
Anyways, your repair instructions worked like a charm. Came out looking good and solid.

I epoxied the guide feet to the rod.
Then I wrapped with strong black  thread.
I held the guides with masking tape till the glue dried. It was easy to line up.
Putting the thread under the wrap is nice. helps hold it all together.

Thank you for your quick answer. can you give me a ballpark figure for a rod turner, after my success with my guide wrapping, i may look into building a rod for myself.

Thank you so much, I tried it and it worked so well that I am fixing all of my rods. I built myself a holder/hand spinner, who knows, I may spring for a rod turner. Does it matter what kind of thread you use.
