Hi. I theorycrafted and discovered this method alongside with my partner in September 2017. Level 3's with flippers prior to this video either obtained the flippers getting combat xp or purchased this method directly from me as I was selling this method for well over a year to private customers due to less chance of a leak. Having a static NPC spawn while utilizing this method is crucial, but can also be done with dynamic NPC spawns if you calculate the cannon rotation and the NPC spawntime- and location/chance correctly (difficult, but doable). I have personally obtained boss pets and other miscellaneous 'achievements' like the diary combat tasks for level 3's with this method. Hopefully this answers some of the comments on here.
Do you know if this method would this method work for other monsters that have a delayed spawn. I can't think of too many besides maybe mutated zygomites or molanisks? I doubt any of them would be as useful as this but its interesting to think about.
Nice guide! Could have used this video 2 weeks ago! Got my flippers the old fashioned way.. 4xp per kill and praying to the rng gods. Got them in 15 kills!
Economic tip: Flippers have a 1/65 drop rate, so replacing 8 anchovy pizzas with 8 cakes will save you anywhere from 230k to nearly 300k per 65 kills (substitute 8 cakes per inventory) depending on whether or not you bought or stole the cakes. Mogres max hit is 8.. which means they hit 1-4 just as much as 5-8. 5+ HP = eat cake.
Also, I forgot if it is hunter or summer pies, but they raise your slayer and range by 5, so you can boost from 27 slayer to 32. The slayer requirement is for the fishing explosive, not to attack mogres. This should save you some time if you're not interested in grinding 27-32. I know I personally got sick of the Varrock Museum and Fossil Island lamp grinding… and easy achievement diary lamps cant be used until skill level 30.
good vid but if mogre max hit is 8, lowest hp u will ever be is 2, so u should use anchovies pizza because it 8 per slice and cheaper, will always get u to 10hp again
I never would've guessed you don't get ranged exp on that first hit. I'm baffled at how it registers as a NPC while spawning (because the cannon fires), but doesn't give exp regardless. Good job figuring this out!
