Thanks for sharing this video. I'm coming down from British Columbia later this month, to fly fish with my sons, so any help for our single day chasing reds is very much appreciated! Cheers, Todd

Hi, thank you for your info sharing. Im new to kayak fishing. I would like to ask, what is the possibility that the yaker might encounter with alligators in the mosquito lagoon? Is that some thing that kayaker want to consider and watch out while fishing in the lagoon?

Holy cow…. BARBLESS ! ! ! I've never heard anyone (especially not a guide) promoting the concept. Every lure in my arsenal had them mashed the moment they came out of the packaging. Helps the fish, reduces the number of trips to the E.R. and if/when you sink one deep. … it comes out easily and painlessly. I rarely lose a fish because of it…. the ones I do lose are because the initial hook set was poor. I fish a lot of current for trout. I can usually dehook the fish with my fingers quickly which helps my not drift off "the bite zone" while spending 45 seconds getting the hook/s out.
If you're fishing a single hook live bait then a barb is a must…. but I don't fish bait so it doesn't apply to me. I don't think lures are better. …it's because bait is more work and I'm too lazy to deal with it. Fish the bait you like but if you throw artificial. …try barbless you may like it.

I have been sport fishing Indian river for 2 years now averaging 223 days of fishing a year and I encounter exactly what your talking about!  I actually had an angler come so close, my line ended up in his trolling motor. I have mainly fished Johns fish North and have had nothing but great experiences with reds, blacks and trout.
