You manipulate if you need to….. but you don't constantly manipulate/mend if it's not needed – otherwise you are putting unnatural movements into the fly and not the currents. It's all about knowing how and when to do what in different currents; different situations.
That is really good advice. I do feel like though that if I keep adjusting it, it will make the fly look more unnatural
