I’m brand new to fly fishing. In fact, I got a fly rod and reel last week and spent the week buying flies. I’ve filled four smallish boxes and haven’t even made a cast yet. Shooting for this weekend. I already know, I’m gonna need more boxes. 😎👍

I’ve seen some bags where you’re able to configure them to be a chest bag or a hip bags, and I was wanting to get your opinion on them if you or the team has tried them

I love the sling pack thank you! I just wish it would work with the left shoulder too and it doesn't, it's a right shoulder only pack pretty much and it adds a lot of strain to that shoulder muscle so it would be nice if it was also able to be used practically over the left shoulder too, also the chest strap isn't very women friendly either which can get a bit uncomfortable lol 🙏

Great video! I organise my flies by dries, nymphs etc but then split into rivers and lakes – works really well for me.
I have a large ish bag that goes with me every trip where i put spares, lunch, drink, flies etc.
I wear a waistcoat and that works extremely well for me as everything is super accessible and in front of me. I put the stuff in a absolutely need but not loads of stuff

Truly, I say you, this is the most helpful video I’ve ever seen in my one year beginners fly fishing journey❤ thank you for opening up and showing me what it’s supposed to look like thanks bro

Excellent video. I just started flyfishing last year and went with the sling pack. Mainly because i wanted to hike in to alpine lakes and that seemed the most practical.
Note: i have always unclipped my shoulder sling and accessed the bag from the side. Seeing you unclip the waist and sling it so its right in front of you made me go “duh”.

Won't really apply when you're first starting, but I have found building a box (or a series of boxes) tailored to your "home" water is very important. If you consistently fish one river more than others, you'll eventually start noticing/developing patterns, finding favorites, etc, not having to dig through say…stoneflies, on a river where those don't play is pretty handy. Definitely can't do this for every place you'll fish, but for your river? Big help.
