I love catching pike, and do okay with them. But the local lake is a lot better for walleye. I probably catch 10-15 walleye for every pike.

I love pike fishing, but oh my lord they stink. They leave a nasty smell on your hands for days after cleaning them
Black brown and red mepps muskie killer is my go to. They seem to hammer the fuck out of that.
