Fishing progression has changed since the release of galatea Here's what I would now recommend:
1. Do normal fishing up until level 10 to unlock the Starter lava rod, this will allow you to immediately start fishing in lava.
(Unlock Galatea if you haven't already) 2. In Galatea, there is a forge located on the left side of the map. Here, you can fish up ONLY a sea creature called a StriderSurfer. This is currently the best way to gain fishing xp (with proper buffs and scc, you can get around 50k xp/min)
3. I hate to break it to you, but this is what you will need to do until fishing level 45 💔 progression still stays the same: Armor: sponge > shark scale > thunder lord > Magmalord Rod: Starter rod > Magma rod > inferno rod > Hellfire rod
you forgot about a really good way to get fishing exp by fishing in the magma fields for lava blazes once u hit fishing level 20 each lava blaze gets you 800 exp and you can rod swap rod of legends to starter lava rod to transfer fishing speed from it to the starter lava rod
