I never fish with treble hooks, never! Why would anybody want to harm or even kill any fish just for fun? Ditch the trebles or at least crush the barb!!
This is the exact video ive been looking for, as im tryna catch a bass shore fishing in dublin ireland along the north coast from pool beg up to malihide plenty of mackerel dabs flounder and pollock no bass yet, they are there somewere , thanks for the tips mate great vid.
Found these vids great, very informative – my very keen 12yr old grandson and i are going to Appledoor next wk and plan to try sea fishing – we're both novice sea fishers [course anglers mainly ].
Hi, being a newbie and complete beginner I’d appreciate some advice. Could I use an Abu Garcia 15-45gms rod, bait-caster reel, loaded with 40lb braid and is a leader essential? Many thanks for any information. TIA
For some reason the pier I have fished for 40 years and I've never seen or heard of anyone catching a bass there but literally a stones throw away is a rocky out crop which leads on to a beach of shingle and masses of broken rock and kelp and if you use top water lures about 100 yards behind the main rock you'll get bass on top water lure or rag worm and peeler crab it's crazy cuz when I say a stones throw I'm not exaggerating anyway atleast I now know where they are and that top water lures work best. It's a constant education fishing I'm sure you'll agree
Hi and Thanks. I've been coarse fishing most of my life and never had a go at sea fishing. Even though I lived at Burnham on Crouch for 10yrs ! I'm living in Suffolk now but plan to retire back to Burnham and I've got a hankering to fish the River Crouch when we return. In the meantime, I fancy a go at Lure fishing for Bass on the River Deben and these videos have told all I need to know. Nice and straight forward, informative and fun… Great videos !!
You don't need to tell me how addictive bass fishing is. I court my first bass last year and ever since it's all I've wanted to do. Every chance I get I go fishing
Hi! Thanks for posting this video it’s great help to newbie’s. I have a question… If we are new to bass fishing and go with normal 10/15lb line instead of braid do we need to attach a leader if so why and heavier or lighter than main line?
Thank you for a very helpful video. When I lure fish on rivers with a spinner, I tend to tie my braid to a swivel and then have a leader of monofilament to a swivel clip. This is to prevent twisting of the line from the overexcited spinner. I can then also add weights to the braid/mono swivel to get more depth when required.
Do you think that type of setup would work for shore fishing?
Any tips on places to lure fish on West Sussex coast? I'm Surrey based.

Really helpful video, thank you.
Can I use a bait caster?
Would you use that fairly light rod and line if you were fishing from a small boat?
Ive had about 10 different colour seeker lures.. Only the blue and white ones catch.

What lure can you use that will catch all fish instead of just trying to catch bass?

Can I ask why you lead with fluorocarbon rather than wire trace ? (Asking as a pike lure fisherman)
