Whenever I try to fish nothing happens. Like, I have the bait, I pull out the fishing rod while sitting in a chair, I throw it at the fish, but they never actually grab onto the bait. I have only tried it twice, and this was yesterday. I'm playing on Xbox One so maybe it could be yet another problem with the summer bash update? I don't know.
Bit late with this but maybe someone will still see and find useful. Playing solo on a vanilla settings/local. To get the best BP's, you MUST get an ascendant rod so make it a mid-game goal. You can use sap, honey or leech blood but leech blood seems to drop slightly higher level item. The determining factor is a formula based on fish level X fish size. Smaller fish tend to strike before larger fish. Anything over 1.0 size is worth it. Go into the lake or spot you are fishing and kill (with a pick or whatever) anything below say .8. Salmon generally give better loot than Caol but be careful killing them as the others will attack. Ive gotten high level ascendant mosa regular and platform saddles (180+), plus ALL kinds of ascendant armor (including riot), assault rifles, compound bows etc. You do get some garbage of course but fishing is a far FAR more efficient use of time than the standard grinding for gear, even it is perhaps more boring lol. The huge ones (1.9 and above will drop MASSIVE loot). Fishing is actually one of THE most overlooked aspects of the game in terms of loot drops beyond a doubt. Best spot on any map Ive found: Valguero 69.3 66.5 (chalk cliff area), plus it is a MAJOR otter spawn point if tames are of interest

I've been thinking about funding my own server due to not being able to find a good, well balanced server regarding Rates and Mods. I think it may be a good opportunity to grow your channel with the upcoming Genesis DLC.
I'm happy to fund the server intially and see where it goes. With your expertise, new DLC and no short supply of folks looking for a decent server. Let me know what you think, i'll keep an eye out for your response.

For some reason in this video you keep cutting in and out from left to right, and the music is very distracting because it is too loud for your voice.
