I got the chance to fish with Zack last October and thoroughly enjoyed the day. We fished the West Fork of the Pigeon all morning and then drove up into the park to chase some native brookies. It was my first native brook trout and it was caught on a bamboo rod that I made. Great day all around and Zack is a Deadhead to boot!

Fished Alaska, Ireland, Norway , most of the western streams, Arkansas, the upper Midwest, and Maine. But I still love the Davidson the best. Maybe because there's such great BBQ joints around there?

You get to learn a lot about a person when you spend a day on a stream with a fly rod. They will tell you exactly who they are or they pretend to be something they are not. I never thought of NC as a Trout fishing destination. With Youtube no wonder they are seeing the growth they are seeing. It's another place I would like to fish for a week or two. Fall looks like heaven to me on that stream. Maybe that is what heaven is, The Davidson in Fall.

After living 25 years in Montana, where I fished 20+ rivers , I now live 15 minutes from the Davidson, a fine small river. This video is nicely done, a fine invitation to the river. Check out Davidson River Outfitters in Pisgah Forest or Hunter Banks Fly Shop in Asheville for guides, advice, etc. JIM

What an amazing video! I went out with Brown the 2nd or 3rd time I fly fished and now almost 10 years later it is something I deeply love. He's a great teacher and an even better guy!

Guys, I have to say I think I have seen all of your videos and this has to be the cleanest and best produced video you have ever made! I love this video. I feel like you shot this on a different camera or new glass haha because it's crispy with perfect so unbelievably perfect color ahh the images are great. I love constructive criticism on all my work and I have to say the only thing about this I would change is a mistake I feel I have made before. While recording interviews on the water is prettier you can't help but have so much natural sound behind you because of running water. I would recommend not recording on the water interviews because you get that gap where the interview audio cuts out and back in. The only way to get around this is to record room noise after each interview so you can use that water running audio to dissolve or completely remove those cuts in audio that you hear. This is all things we learn down the road and you guys have grown so much in your productions. I love it and can't wait to get the chance to link up with you guys one day in NC. The Davidson is one of my favorite rivers to fish in Western NC because of all the reasons they're talking about. Great video guys, images, story, all of it is top-notch.

Living in Montana gives you pause when you see such beautiful county where you are . It’s a way different experience with the same results , being on a river in beautiful county and fishing doesn’t get any better . Great video nice presentation .
    Happy Trails

It would be MY very first time fly fishing too. I'm watching yours and others to learn the skill. I do most Saltwater wading but never have I done freshwater fly. Lord willing, hopefully some day, and I will put you in my saved video when the day comes.
