I can't imagine how the fish aren't spooking with the fly line swooping over their heads and rod tip flying all over. They just hang out while you're fighting fish too, just swooping back and forth! The fish do not act like this on west branch delaware, they are GONE if you cast like that. Amazing, love it!

Absolutely incredible. Have watched this twice back to back. Parts of NZ resemble the landscape and some waterways in Scotland but these fish are a totally different league. Lovely video-thanks.

Great fish and waters. Shame about all the running around the river though supposed to be really quiet and let the fish have a good fight your just scooping it up really quickly and disturbing other fish in doing so poor technique really

These are beautiful fish, but I've caught browns this size and my experience is they fight much harder than these clear stream fish fight. No question, fishing this creek would be like a dream though.

In the 90s we also had such large collections of brown trout in Germany, Baden Württemberg (38:05). There were so many that we could even catch the smaller ones by hand because there was a fish under each crack.
Today there is a yawning emptiness everywhere, because with a few exceptions we cut off too many large fish. Fortunately, there are first areas where you can only catch medium-sized fish (small and large are prohibited) and the number of fish has been reduced. I hope this will happen across the country.
