Born and raised in Casper, but I 've never fished the mile… I've fished all around it… but never there…but I do miss it, except the wind, dont miss that at all!
The WY game and fish used to sell a shirt that said "some states are made for carp, our condolences to them", a reference to CO where carp fishing is popular. This is sad.
We're really into conservation. The water temperature is up so I'll just lift the fish out of the water by the line and then toss it back in from a height equivalent to a two story building. A special technique I learned from every bait fisherman on the planet.
Honest to God,you would think that the guide talking about stress to the fish would demonstrate a proper way to release the fish.I see this constantly on how badly this is performed.Anti slime soft net, reviving the fish, gentle release. When the fish is released, who knows what happens to it.Please take note so the viewers understand.Thankyou
I wouldn't come to Wyoming to fish. There are no fish here.

Bill, I want your job!! I have fished the N. Platte several times…some epic fishing. Beware of rattlesnakes….especially around The Mile.
Wyoming has more Blue Ribbon streams and rivers than any other state except for Alaska. Wyo also has trophy pronghorn, deer, elk and moose.
I've caught them from 16" to 30" on the Platte.
I grew up in Riverton & Casper. So much great fishing in Wyoming. I learned how to fly fish on the Platte.

It is a sin to release invasive species back into the wild. Carp are the devil to our fisheries. They must be humanely destroyed. IMO
