There is a place that only the residents know about the North Platte River but to those who are visiting to fly fish you might have heard about Saratoga and Alcova. These two places are known for guides but were you really want to try is near Sinclair. Awesome fishing and generous to first timers. Summer time in the evening fantastic for dry flies and day time use 2 to 4 inch streamer for monster trouts.
Lived in Casper for 8 years caught many 4-6 lbs. browns and Rainbows 1 8 lbs. you need only two flys the Halfback and North Platt Special that it, never had a boat fished from miracle mile down to Casper Sept.-Nov. the best but I caught good fish year round in the time I lived and worked in Wyo. caught maybe 100 4 lb. plus trout 90% on halfback.
