Hey Matt, I love all the information in your videos, from the baits to the gear, super informational and have pointed me and I'm sure many others in the right direction. One suggestion to think about, maybe give some of us noobs a suggestion in what kind of knot you are tying on these specific baits. Thank you and keep up all the awesome content!

I was really interested in picking up the Curado 7'5" all around moderate jig rod! Can't find it listed anywhere. Wanted to use it for Kaitech swim baits too. I have a Falcon 7'4" Mike McClelland hvy cover jig rod which is also teriffic with that moderate bend. I need both so I can have both rigged. Any ideas? Did they stop making it???

Would you recommend any of the SLX rods for jigging? If so which one? I see you are recommending the moderate fast curado but the only moderate fast SLX is heavy action… Should I spend the extra bucks on the curado medium heavy? Thanks!

Matt, l do respect your opinions based on your superior knowledge and experience. I see that you seem to like fluorocarbon line and I know that it has it's advantages. Let me explain. I was on another channel, Catfish & Carp and he gave an overview on the 4 types of line; mono, braid, fluorocarbon, and hybrid. Fluorocarbon has the advantages of sinking fast, being harder for fish to see, and being thinner than mono. But it gets line twists, has memory, is stretchy, and knots can slip. At least that's what the guy on that channel said. I looked over the different lines and, from what I can see ( and please correct me however necessary) I would tend to use fluorocarbon as a leader on braid which, I would think would maximize it's positives. Thanks for the great vids! Tight lines to you and Matt!

Hey guys, hope you don't mind answering a question from Australia not exactly Bass related. I''m looking for the biggest baddest chatterbaits for our Murray Cod over here – basic specs are a big blade. 5/8 to 1.5 ounce jig head, big strong hook like a 4/0 or 5/0 (so pretty mega setup) and the trailing soft bait giving it a total length around 10 to 12 inches, is there such a thing in the US? ta for any info

I ordered a ton of dirty jigs flipping jigs to stock up for the season. Once my boat gets out of the shop I’ll be hitting the water to break them all
Off on the first day! Lol

Need some help here please!! I am looking into buying the Daiwa Zillion 7’ heavy/ fast action or the med/heavy extra fast action 7’ Would either of these be good for swim jigs 1/4 to 3/8? I really am stuck on that zillion! I really only fish ponds in northeast Ohio. Thanks guys!

I see no benefit throwing a pure moderate action rod for jigs. Moderate action is specifically for cranking situations. I get the slower action to try and keep the fish pinned but you have to be able to turn the fish hard while in cover, not let the fish fight with the action of the rod. Best bet is fast action rid which is right in the middle of moderate fast and extra fast. Rod length isnt always key either, if you have the right action.

Never had good luck with a skirted jig, seem to lose em if I get a bite. Give me a plain jig head and some soft plastics and I bang on em. I'm guessing it's just a matter of forcing yourself to use it to gain confidence. Need to try finesse or compact jigs more maybe. Thanks as always guys, love the vids

Thanks for an awesome video Matt. I have been bass fishing for a long time but just started using jigs. I just bought a G Loomis GL3 723 for smaller jigs, up to 3/8 oz. I like the shorter length for pond fishing off the bank.

Hey man great info on the jigs guys. I normally don't ask but it would be an honor if you guys would check out my Jig video. I put it out last year and it is dead on with your 5 jigs. I'm a massive fan and have been for a very long time. Sorry I hate to ask.

The best skipping jig and arky style I ever used is from Tru-Trac lures. All jigs are custom made to your specs. http://trutraclures.com/21.html. You guys probably never heard of them. It's a Georgia company, but everyone that fishes Clarks hill lake has. I'm still learning how to skip but these are making it a lot easier. Them a call.

Matt on the link you wrote Canterbury Flipping Jig but you linked the No-Jack. Which did you intend to link and which is your favorite and why? It seems to me like the head is slightly different, TW doesn't give a good explanation of a difference on them. Need to stock up on flipping jigs for the Okeechobee spawn for this season. Thanks for the help!

What rod power would you recommend for throwing squarebills and lipless crankbaits? I can’t decide between a medium moderate and a medium heavy moderate. Thank you guys love the videos!

Awesome guide! Quick question, heading to Lake Baccarac in Mexico and big 1oz jigs have been the ticket for giant bass fished in over 30ft of water. Do you recommend using a big football jig or something else?
