I like 7'+ lengths . Light, not ultra lite ,with a fast to super fast tip. Joe Burns makes an awsome 7' crappie rod. I fish for bull bluegill in 25'+ of water and fish for MONSTER SHELL CRACKERS. It takes quit a bit of rod to pull 1lb+ bluegill out of deep water. It is hard to find a rod that has it all,strenth-sensitivity- and light weight. I find also that when casting 1/16 jigs, the longer rods are the way to go.
