I bought a tool just like this at my local shop thinking my life was going to be so much easier after repeated stress filled nail knot attempts, going through leader after leader. Up until now I've had the same problem, just not knowing how to use the damn thing. Thank you so much for posting this, my first attempt produced a perfect knot as promised

You can tie a nail knot exactly the same for pennies. Use a piece of shrink tubing.
