What a shockingly fascinating but truthfully saddening film. More films like this at the very least should be a starting point for raising awareness about the ecological, recreational and cultural value of the Camchucka river. My daughter is 7 too and i found it hard to watch your outlook on what her future holds for her. Thank you for sharing, however hard it was to watch…

Many beautiful and amazing rivers have been ruined by dams and hydropower here in finland.. it's sad to watch old pictures of huge brown trouts and salmons and looking the same rivers now,Only stocked fish

There are two types of anglers/ people. Those who do catch & release and those who haven't seen a dead river by the touch of human yet. The river life is a very fragile system. We already fucked up our rivers in my country…try not to do the same mistake guys.

This film moved me to tears. It is heartbreaking to see the destruction of such wonder by human greed. I have fly-fished all my adult life, taught my sons, and hope to shortly teach my grandchildren: but what will they inherit? Every fly fisher MUST become a radical conservationist: we must fight for every river, every stream, every ditch. It is hard, but we can – we must – win. Have a look at "The Blue Heart" video, about how locals have fought devastating dam projects in the Balkans. Thank you Rolf & Peter: your work makes a difference.

Unfortunately i believe you are fighting a loosing battle against poachers and now a multinational gold mining company. What an awful loss to the earth. Soon there will be nothing left and then humanity will have inadvertently caused its own extinction. Well done for trying at least. Be safe and well.

It’s a sad story and what’s worse, it’s happening everywhere. Man will only stop to consider it when there is nothing left. Those of us who care are outnumbered and outmaneuvered. I’m not saying we stop trying, but it’s seriously depressing.

What can I do to help? I'll come start an outfitter, be a guide, hold a gun, tie knots, land and unhook fish for people…whatever it takes. This video touched me at the core.

Greed is everywhere. We never seem to understand what "enough" means until there's nothing left to take. What a shame. Wonderful video, thanks for it.

As a thirteen year old who would love to pursue a profession in fly fishing, a opportunity like this where I can make a difference in the environment would be a ideal one

Beautiful film! It was a pleasure to view and share your passion. I have been to Katmai, but have always wondered about Kamchatka and Primorye and what an adventure they would be. Sadly, my home state of California will lose most of its salmon runs in the next few decades. Too many people needing water. The message of this beautiful film is becoming reality.
