Another great day on the water but, WHOA! that rudder issue could have been terrible. FYI – In my travels I was recently visiting Mississippi and caught some huge trophy size Crappie/Speckled Perch each day of the week I'm having 3 of them mounted (3.7lb, 3.4lb, and 3.1lb). The CrappieMasters tournament just happened to be in town and was amazed at what I was able to in kayak…they invited me to speak on LIVE radio this Sunday March 31, 2019 at 7pm Central time. I am going to make mention of you Steve and your Youtube channel. Hope it gives you some more traffic. Search "IN the Outdoors with Brian" KMMO.com or tune in radio app and kimmo. Glad you got the 'motor' and able to still control maneuverability. At 3:28–4:10 we appreciate you 'trying' to show us the damage issue, but the camera angle was unable. Do you have a small emergency repair kit…? I'm sure you already know but for other reading this. I use both a small $5 waterproof box from Walmart to hold hippo patch (flex tape), small tube of waterproof silicone, spare fuses, tiny LED light, lighter, leatherman tool, etc… or they can be kept hidden INSIDE your kayak by using a 6inch 'hatch bag' ($15). They are designed to be installed into the back wall of the tank well (hidden under the rudder system). Either way those are both great ideas to keep an emergency kit handy. Also I like your idea for a navigation light at 17:50…I use (2) LED strips red & green both 12 inches long from "Bluewater LED". They are very durable, bright, and comes with 3M backing tape to secure onto kayak. I drilled a tiny 1/16in hole to run wires inside the hull and sealed with waterproof silicone. They run off a simple battery and switch near my seat and barely uses 1watt (I can run all week on 1 charge) and the Fishfinder runs seperate. You are awesome! Can't believe you make that long run on a yak…. and have no problem going back at night! STRAIGHT SHOOTER!
I have eaten more whiting than anything. They actually freeze very well when covered and frozen in water. I will try the low carb breading.
