You dont have to wait to get fishing rod soon as i saw some one fishing i beat there ass and took the pole and it saved to my inventory as soon as i got out the snow

U can get fish the fastest by shooting the ones u see on the edge and then just picking them up
Also eagle eye works for fishing to see where the bigger fish are

It tells you to click the right stick in, when you go fishing with the boy. It just flashes so random and quick you probably missed it.
