Seriously you won't catch barbel over anything but gravel?? What kind of advice are you giving. I have caught over silt and mud….Then telling people if a swim is well fished it's a good sign, I'd be looking for less pressured zones or in between swims…

The moaners below… I think Ade was aiming the video at the less experienced, and beginners to Barbel fishing out there, if you you couldn't see that well you're numpties !! as far as product placement Clive Kenyon …. Durrrr ! it's a Korum marketing video ! As well as educating beginners they're selling their products nothing wrong with that IMO, I wont say what i want to say on here, you'll probably accuse me of trying to sell Laxative ! Great video Ade, ignore the moaners, i see you already have though !

Just got back into fishing after 20 years ! Hooked my first Barbel yesterday on a still water……wow I thought I had hooked a passing car I was fishing triple red maggot, size 12 hook on 6lb mono using the lift float method on a little shimano 1000 reel for Perch ! , this barbel was striping line like nothing I have ever played before I think Barbel is my favourite fish now ! what a scrapper weighed in at just over 4lb but gave me a better fight than my biggest carp so far which was a 12lb common. Great info in this video thanks.

Starting some barbel fishing myself this weekend, not done it before. Can you tell me will I be ok with barbless hooks? I have many diffferent sizes to make some rigs. I always seem to struggle getting barbed hooks out and all other venues require barbless anyway. cheers
