Beginner fisher from Guam here. Wanted to know if a 9' medium ugly stick tiger matched with a Penn II 4000 is overkill or the right match for shoreline saltwater fishing? Any help would be appreciated!

Pls help. I am in Sydney Australia. I want to catch editable snapper in the estuary to Sydney harbour. What type of rig should I use? Currently using circle hook with a running sinker above a swivel. Iโ€™m hit and miss. Any advice would be welcomed. X

I like lure fishing the best. I get too bored just waiting for the fish to bite. In fact I'd rather go home empty handed than do it the lazy way. I fish usually near reservoirs where there are snakeheads and peacock bass.

Okay sure…. I'll help, i know there are a lot of people out there who are getting into fishing or are recreational fishers. Myself and partner hunt and fish together. We are a part of a third catagory. Self sustainability, we fish for food for the houshold.
Any questions, im happy to answer. And also have a few secret methods like how to spool up braided line without the aid of mono or electrical tape without slippage, or quick knotting, comercial knotting and noose knotting, I call it secret because nobody uses these methods but for years now i have used different methods for different purposes.
Given, im an Australian fisherman and different waters can give different results with different methods.
So just let me know if you need a hand.

Thanks guys. This show is on our staple diet for shore fishing info. Our family has just moved to Oman. My son and I took up fishing back in Scotland but BOY it was tough. Since coming to Oman though the fishing has been amazing, catching all sorts of stuff we could only dream of from the sandy beach. We could not have done it without the guidance you have given. keep it up and thanks

I just started with a sudden urge to fish and was wondering if a simple jig and bait would be a general purpose set up for now to catch at piers since I donโ€™t own a license yet to go to lakes and such
