Lol… I purchased Two of these approx 8 to 10 years ago and they were about 1.5 inches long and about 1/8 of an inch in diameter, and thought they got eaten by my other fish after a month or so, and forgot all about them… Until now. I was cleaning my 275 gallon tank, and also so I could do the ornamentation, or to say, re do it, as the spawning beds that just trashed the tank… Anyway, I pull up the riser filter screen plates, after pulling all the stones out, and just about had a heart attack, both of those loaches are still alive and are approx 1 inch in diameter, and approx 18 to 20 inches long, pending which one…. Let me repeat myself, it scares the sh*t out of me, once they bolted out as I didn't know what they were and were exceptionally fast…. they must have found a hole big enough to get under that stone risers filter plates and couldn't find their way back out, but must have had plenty to eat under that…lol… In the morning, I will bring them into my local aquarium supply shop, and trade them for in -house credit, for future fish food or other items of want and needs.. What are the odds, I see this video tonight, after dealing with this today, ???? Smart phones listening in on my phone calls, maybe???? Lol… On a side note, what are some tricks a guy can do, to stop my fish from spawning every other month… As the aquarium supply shop can't take on any more, even if I am just giving them to him, so that they don't become fish food, lol…

I have 10 of these guys in a 55 gallon tank and they spend most their time in dark places. Fun fact: they come out to warn me when there is a change in atmospheric pressure. They do not eat snails at all. I wonder how they breed.

I got two of them a few days ago because I have a snail problem Right when I put them in the tank they where hiding but within a hour they were eating snails getting them on there backs and digging in them and now I have a bunch of empty snail shells everywhere!

"mostly shy" and "nocturnal" definitely doesn't describe my bunch of nutters, I don't think they ever sleep. Definitely agree easy to keep, only lost one to the filter before we started wrapping the inlet with very course sponge to let them grow out.

They are so interesting. These are my first love. Mine never hid in the sand, I also made a little cave and they are pretty easy to find. I love feeding them after i turn out the lights. They go into a little frenzy.

My girlfriend has three and they really are masters of hiding, she moved her tank to her apartment and had bagged up her fish and couldnt find them. drained all but the very last bit of water because she uses ADA aqua soil. thought they were dead, she reset all her stuff and had reacclimated her fish, they came out of the soil in a few days like worms and act like nothing happened. little ninjas i tell ya.

The cutest tank I ever had was a 5g planted with a beautiful betta, 6 kuli loaches, and asassine snails. The kuli loaches were always out and about and forraging for and crumbs that somebody might have missed.

So from doing a little digging around out of curiosity BEFORE I saw this video, these are some (probably not all) of the different types/species of kuhli loaches that I have seen:
Pangio kuhlii (standard, run-of-the-mill kuhli loach)
    P. alternans (Borneo kuhli loach)
    P. anguillaris (eel kuhli loach)
    P. cf. anguillaris (brown eel kuhli loach [not sure what the "cf." stands for])
    P. cuneovirgata (I believe this is the dwarf/pygmy kuhli loach)
    P. doriae (golden eel kuhli loach [not a subspecies for some reason])
    P. filinaris (not really given a common name, but similar to the java/black kuhli loach; identical in body structure, but a light orange to peachy pink color)
    P. malayana (Malaysian kuhli loach)
    P. myersi (Myer's giant kuhli loach)
    P. oblonga (black kuhli loach)
    P. pangia (cinnamon kuhli loach)
    P. piperata (not able to find a common name, similar to p. pangia but with more dappling)
    P. semicincta (half-banded kuhli loach)
    P. shelfordii (calico/leopard kuhli loach)
And a relatively new species (2006), Pangio "unknown", referred to as the panda kuhli loach
This site gives further detail on the different noodles 😁 http://www.fishforums.net/threads/the-many-different-species-of-kuhli-loach.428313/

Please mention that there is no "Golden Kuhli Loach"
I've seen them sold so often, while in reality it will become a MASSIVE weather loach

Also each variety of kuhli is another species and they like to stick to their own. So get like 6 of one kind rather than two of each you see.

Please consider doing a video listing some fish that are shrimp and snail safe! I just got a 55g tank and I am planning on stocking it with small fish and centering everything around shrimp and snails! Thanks for the videos! I am really learning a lot!

Here's an idea I'll call it fish store Amazon, there's 3 main parts to this.

*Fish websites should be synchronized, if they're not 100% synchronized you could have extensive tags on every fishes page, and then you could have a website that searches specific websites that can automatically pull the distribution comments and pictures from the main website and if you need more information then you can just go to the main website. And if a purchase is made directly from the combined and not directly from the website then they will get a small commission encouraging further development.

*The second would be to completely up scale shipping, I'm talking the fish store does the shipping they buy Vans that are modified with fish tanks. And they don't have to go directly to a person's house they can go to Midway stations which are basically fish stores that allow you to pick up your fish.

I mean as far as I'm aware there's fish stores everywhere so for example the United States it would be easy to set up pick up stations within an hour of everywhere in the continental United States and this could probably be done within a year.

*Third is ease of access, right now if you don't want to become an internet zombie you need to become a nerd that knows everything about fish. An easy way to fix this would also kill two birds with one stone, obviously there are YouTubers like a quarry co-op accurately educating the community about fish police 👮, but we can go one step further just sell every product with a complete user guide in an aquarium that has been running for 6 months.

That way you can have a playlist of video tutorials on a QR code that came with it, I mean I would pay $500 before shipping to get a 6 months established 40 gallon aquarium with a colony of breeding Guppies for example. How much would you pay and what kind of aquarium could you build with $500.
on top of that the aquarium could come with an upgrade guide and an $80 stand that can hold 4 aquariums and directions to build a sump. Plus you don't need a $100 stand that can hold one aquarium, I mean you could probably build something way better for less than $30 out of two-by-fours and a piece of cloth
