guide spacing charts are only for reference it is a good starting point though. Every rod bends a little different. after you tape or use rubber bands to hold your guides on using a chart .simply tape a piece of fishing line tape it to the butt section of the stick and run the line through all of the guides pull on the line just hard enough to bend the pole and adjust the guides so there isnt any real sharp flat spots this is called a static test.
You're right, we should've discussed spacing. We talked a bit off camera about it. I guess he's got a chart, that he's drawn up over the years after trial and error that he uses for certain sized rods.
He has a talent no doubt! Tidy job, I was waiting for this video. Enjoyed watching but I would of like if he went into the mechanics in a little more detail. Setting out & spacings between the rings and stuff. Either way thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product CS. ATB.
I've never seen anyone so precise and confident with their craft. Hats off man. Beautiful wrap.

He only does the friends and family thing now 🙁
Will he tie rods for anyone or just for friends?. Looking for a custom float rod.
It all depends on the blank, and components you choose. Theres a wide range of choices.
How much does it cost to make your own rod
Great Video. I would love to build rods but don't have the dexterity due to nerve problems. Thanks guys.
