Capt. Chris Myers, you are one of the best fly fishing instructors on YouTube!!! I've watched all of your fly fishing videos. The instructions are clear, concise, well thought out and the analogies make sense. I'm about to rekindle my fly fishing flame based on your instructions.
As a new fly fisherman one thing I'm having trouble with is my line seems to twist up the more I cast creating hprrible knots if I don't stop and dangle and unteist the end. Any suggestions?
I just got my first fly rod for Christmas. and this has been the only instructional casting video that helps me see an actual difference from trying what you taught!! thank you so much for your help!
Very good instructor, thank you for the video. I've recently taken up fly fishing do to a disabled left wrist and a regular pole and lure and constantly reeling is impossible anymore.
Very helpful. Can’t wait to get out and practice. Have had a fly rod for years and only recently started using it for bass with the hope of progressing to saltwater. Thanks again!
One more quesftion , as this is a new sport to me ,the straight line path ,as you come to end of the forward stroke is there a slight flick of the wrist forward ,as I Carnt seem to grasp the mechanics of it. The way I seem to understand it, although your explanation of the paint brush is good and kind of understand it ,if I were to pull the cord on a outboard motor would be the corect formula for following a straight line path. It's just I listen to a lot of so called experts were I go fishing and everybody has a different explanation ,but watching you cast tells me you know the correct mechanics of a good cast
What's on his shirt
I love to flyfish, I just wish there was somewhere close to me to go
Finally a video that makes sense to me! This is the only video on YouTube that helped me with my cast. Thank you so much
I'll be brutally honest, this was fucking awesome.

Thanks for the video Chris, very helpful
This helped me alot.now my mates don't slag me off haha.great tutorial thank you.
How do you get your fly line be straight out in front of you in the water at the beginning of a cast? instead of just having a pile at your feet
I like the wet paint brush analogy. That's a good way to explain the cast power. I am going to use that.

The rod position is it 10 o'clock then two o'clock or is more 11 o'clock then two oclock
Excellent. Makes the mechanism of the cast very clear. Now to practice it
Great tutorial,thanks heaps
