I use the Scooby Doo rig all the time and I got to admit it I absolutely love it so thanks for that hack last year. KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDEOS. Oh and happy Easter Easter
Will try a few of those rigs this Spring. A test of identical grubs with and without a jighead. Have been throwing the same combo of head & grub in Ozark streams & rivers for decades. The flexibility of those rigs is what's really interesting … adaptable to different depths & water-flow.
Hi, always great videos. Who makes the hook you called an "in line" hook with the vertical LARGE eye? That seems like the perfect hook for that Scrappy Doo rig, if that's what you called it. Also looks good for a treble replacement on lures where only single hook points are allowed (easier hook removal too). I know Mustad made an oversized eye 3366, maybe with an A designation, Jan's Netcraft carried them at one time. That was a long time ago. Awesome dental floss rig👍 I've used a similar rig, like the first one you showed with the shot on the leader tag, but my leader has a loop on one end and I clamp the shot to it's tag. The leader loop connects to a snap swivel on the main line. I use it for drifting worms in moving or still water. You've got some great hacks my friend, thanks for sharing!
The NYS regs of tributaries of Lake Ontario, which I believe you are referring to, the leader cannot exceed a maximum of 4ft measured from the top of the hook eyelet to the top of the furthest out weight/swivel/junction knot. Weights attached to a swivel in a 3 way rig orientation cannot hang below the hook. You also cannot add weight to any hooks so the direct tie to the eye (besides it being lower than the hook) is not permitted on tributaries of Lake Ontario, but is permitted based on my understanding of the rules on other streams/rivers. There is not restriction on how the weight is attached to the line, so slinky 3 way, nursing tubing or split shot (is by the far most common). To the people looking to go, talk to the guys at the local tackle stores or even the DEC officers. If you fish the major rivers DEC is there often and they are dressed like all the other anglers, till they tap you on the shoulder. Ask the people around you fishing many know the rules and if you break them I've seen people "encourage" others to follow the rules. Make sure you read and know the regulations in the "NYS Fish and Marine Guide".
Nice,I think I'm going to be trying that scrappy doo rig for small brim, with a floating powerbait trout worm. With the right size split shot It should cast fine with my BFS setup.
Great video Nick, what great rigs I love the dental floss idea. I have had a line break at the crimped on split shot on 4 lbs test back in the day, when I had what would have been the biggest Brown Trout of my life hooked up. I really miss Trout fishing back in Jersey I loved to fish the Musconetcong and the Pequest rivers. Good luck this season.
Don't really get to enjoy trout fishing here around Wilson. Had a couple of places stock rainbows for awhile but had to pay for every single day and at least early on you couldn't even keep any, even though they were most definitely dead come the Alabama summer lol.
Also what line would you personally use for a troutset up? I've used 4lb fire line but found I break off on the hook set and it's impossible to tie on anything on the water.
Happy Easter everyone! Thought I'd put out a little hack vid for those in a sugar coma! How much you wanna bet there are gonna be a flood of Easter Leftover/ Easter candy Fishing challenge videos….lol

Good stuff thanks I don’t see myself needing jig heads anymore!

Thank you for the upload. The meaningful information density is excellent. I only hope the rest of your videos are so thoughtfully made!

Good stuff, I like this can't wait to try it!
Very, very awesome video!!
Would the scooby doo rig still be effective in lakes for trout and what kind of worm should be used with it in lakes if it works well in lakes

I’m a new sub and I’m so excited to trying this new technique in trout and bass fishing. Thanks so much 😁👍🏻
My buddy selling three of his Steez spinning reels and 3 rods. I guess he likes the feel of the new ballistic LT
Jk april fools
You could also rig it like a dropshot, start the hook in middle of egg and run the hook just so thr tip is touching the top of the egg but not exposed
Sir I enjoy your channel very much ! It’s literally the opposite of senko shiters lol
omg, scrappy doo rig! ADHD excitement right now…u do not know how excited to see this crazy looking rig! "almost like a jika rig"
Grat video! What is that rod?
I will be using this rig next week. Thx for sharing
Extremely informative. Thank you!
first tip to be a good troutman… put down the f*cking powerbait…
Great Video,
How do those rigs wrong in fast moving water for steelhead?
You sound like Jafromobile.
great video! I am heading out after some trout today so you must have been reading my mind!
I just learnt something
Finally thought of an off topic question: Do you feel that Daiwa's free floating spool is effective?
Don't really get to enjoy trout fishing here around Wilson. Had a couple of places stock rainbows for awhile but had to pay for every single day and at least early on you couldn't even keep any, even though they were most definitely dead come the Alabama summer lol.
nice ! love those rigs
Time to make up a dozen more scooby doo rigs…and those are some impressive NJ browns you just dropped casually in at the end lol

What purple worm was that? Looked better than the classic powerbaitones.

Happy Easter Buddy! Great video as always!
