Buy a kiln, and find a local gun range. Ask the range if you can dig lead bullets so you can melt them and cast them into sinkers. Or melt down aluminum cans and cast them into sinkers, or get the brass casings from a gun range and melt them down and cast them.

I use rocks with holes. I pick them up as I fish. I'll use a drop line off the main line of a lighter breaking strength. I just loop the dropper through the rock and if it gets stuck I give it a quick tug and it breaks free. This is a very clean alternative to using plugs, nuts, bolts etc

the cleanest replacement i have found is taking a bag of river rock from somewhere like Menards or home depot…….you get a small masonry bit and a drill and drill a hole through the rock….using the paper clip trick would work well with this too.
