I live right by this river and fish it as much as possible. My favorite months are actually march and April, because the fish are very hungry. My biggest fish I've seen come out there was a 26" brown by my father.
a day on the river beats a day in office! I love the south fork, having all the notable Idaho rivers – THE SOUTH FORK IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! dreaming of yellow sallies, pink pmd's and fall streamers!!!!!
Unfortunately you all came on the worst season we have ever had in 30 years. The water was still at flood stage and the fact we caught as many fish as we did was a testament to how hard your guides worked for you.
Why did you decide to go in August? The south fork fishes much better in late June through July and September through November… August is the month to avoid

There's no such thing as a bad season on the South Fork.

525/day plus tip-I'd pay the plane ticket to Cabo, get a panga guide and get bit on roosters and dodos.
