Albert – Northern pikes are better. You get your fishnets filled faster, and you get buck for pound on them or even more. The Walleyes in New York are best only on rainy days. After a while they stop biting and you begin catching other types of fishes that aren’t worth keeping for a long while, and takes a long time even with the right equipment to start catching them again. In Alberta, however, Northern Pikes weigh more, and you get more money out of them. Best option is to pay for atleast 2+ days when traveling there. 1st day is to make back the money you used to get there with a bit of profit (keep in mind, also depend on your fishnet weight limit which will also guarantee how much you get in your first+ days) and the second and any days after the first will be nothing but profit. I take in easy 20k without barely paying attention or trying to get any of them lmao. Bring shiners and minnows, use anything between #2/0 – #4/0 hooks. Set your depths to 80 and cast off to the far right between the two trees which is like a Pike sweet spot. I use a 3/0 hook. Keep in mind however that you will uncommonly catch Atlantic salmon (not worth keeping at all, but good exp, they also weigh a lot) brook trout, and burbots. About 90-95% of the time you catch Northern pikes. I suggest bringing anything that can handle 16-20lb in case you wanna catch the Atlantic salmons for xp. Make sure to pay for 2+ days for a lot of profit and bring a lot of shiners and minnows (as a back up in case you run out of shiners, they also work to catch Northern pikes) you also catch trophy Northern pikes which give good amount of money and are a good amount of weight which means good exp as well.
Was this patched? Fished for like 2.5 hours and didn't get a single one, tried with the same lure as you, and also grubs. Tried in rainy, cloudy and sunny conditions. Not a single one,
Hey ZaggiDK, I am glad that you have made this vid for the people who wants to earn some money. This is the best way also in my opinion. I see that we are using the same gear. Well i use a different reel but all the rest is the same. You showed some nice walleye spot, but there are some more walleye spots. There is one a bit further on the same side….its also about 50 – 54 mtr. About in the corner you see a bush that is a different collor (more light green) and i cast in that direction. Also i cast my lure in the direction of the big tree (the biggest tree) that stand in the middle of the opposite side. (i hope that i am clear enough with my explanation) When i go for the lures i start with the worms (purple one 7 cm on a 5 gram jig) and fish it with the drop and stop (reel speed 3) After a while it seems the power of the lure starts to weaken and than i chance for the small spoon. (I use the purple aswell) I use different ways. I reel them in just like you showed in the vid but i use also the drop and stop wich give me also some good results. When the lure dont take any more bites i change the rod for a floting rod and use the small minnows with a depth of 250. Usually i cast them in the same spot as you do but slightly more away from the side. Yesterday i took my first trophy walleye and it was over 2kg and gave me 700 money 🙂 You never guess where i hooked him. It was about 8 meters from the place i was standing. Oh…also i buyed the red and white crankbait (with gold coins) (that little fish thing) and he goes 3,50 in depth. (needs a other rod because the lure is 21 gr if i am correct) This lure will not only catch some nice walleye but also some nice northern pike. The bigger pike are real good money. Have you tried this technique since the patch? Speed 2 seems to reel in too fast now, and speed 1 doesn't produce any fish.
