Just got into fly fishing for carp several years back.  I love the sport.  Sucks Americans think they are such garbage fish.  We go down to Florida to fish for redfish and then come back to Pittsburgh to fish for carp in the Ohio River, sightfishing just the same, and it is so similar, especially their fight.

Those things destroyed every fishing reel I had when I was a kid chasing catfish in KY. I used to take my daughter and her little friends fishing for them just to hear the screaming.

Nice vid, carp are definatly one of the smarter/stronger fish out there, thats why they are the ultimate freshwater fish, instead of bass, witch are a bit stupid, (and small), and not so strong. like pike and stuff..

Hey, love the video!   I'm relatively new to carp fishing, but am VERY interested in getting one on the fly.  My fly rod is a 5 wt. Sage… Just basic model, nothing fancy.  Would I be out of my league going after 5-10 pound carp with this rod?  Maybe tie on a heavy tippet and toss wooly buggers?  I live in Denver, and would be fishing the Platte River through town… Similar in makeup and composition to the water you're fishing in this video.  Thanks, and again, GREAT vid!
