New to kayak fishing. I don't understand the need for the trolley system. Why not just drop the anchor in the water and tie it off to your boat? What does the system do to help you fish?
Thanks for posting. Well worth the time and material to make an anchor like this (quick front to back positioning, quick release and float retrieve). It is so handy. I benefit from mine almost every fishing trip. A built-in rope wrap with another carabiner helps to quickly adjust deployed length. I get away with collapsible claw anchor (1.5lbs) on my Tarpon 100.

I like the idea of a float. Cheers!
So don't ever change your anchor line length and attach it to a cleat on your boat?
