Why not do the fairy tales quests and simply use the fairy ring? You have to do the first one to the end, but the second one you can just do to the point where you use the fairy ring and stop after that (unless your OCD really wont let you stop…LOL) There is one not far from Shilo and it a much shorter walk.

Forgive me if wrong, but i don't think you mentioned where you could just take the boat to the colony after you tele to Eagle's Peak, via Kathy Corkat who can be found directly above the lodestone, who can transport you just a little south of the colony, for shorter distances.

Barbarian Fishing isn't helping me that much. I'm not getting any more fishing xp than I would at trout/salmon.
