Hi, I'm new to fly fishing and don't have any friends or family to teach me, so your videos are extremely helpful. How would you fish a streamer in a very slow moving river? I try to let the natural current move the fly, however the fly doesn't move very well, if at all. Should a try stripping it in to me? What other kinds of retrieves are there? Thank you so much.

What I don't understand is how to cast after stripping a streamer all the way in. How do you cast if you have stripped all the line in and only have a few feet out line out last the rod tip?

I heard doing a reverse taper on the leader tippet makes large flies easy to cast. I have a 5 weight and i have a lot of trouble casting heavy flies, would using a sinking line for a 6/7 weight make it easier? I just have a floating line atm.
