Fish grips are also handy for when you catch a small channel catfish cause not only are they holder too hold while avoiding dorsal fins but they are more likely too penetrate thru skin with spiked dorsal fins tending too be sharper than adult fish cause they dull on rocky bottoms over time.
Been trying to fish for years after watching hours and hours of fishing tutorials and most of the time I get skunked this video breaks down the same information as all the other ones, I think honestly what matters is location and decent spots
Get a 6-7’ Medium/Fast pole. Any reel. Learn the weedless Texas rig, and the Ned Rig. That setup will hook 95% of pond/lake fish. Don’t get caught up in the YT nonsense. Learn these basics and get out and fish!
Since I was a kid, I dreamed of going fishing with my dad, but never got the chance, because we were poor. Now I'm in my late 30's and finally we'll be able to go fishing together. This video helped me a lot.
I appreciate you recommending the spinning rod. I fished bass tournaments for 30 years and the only bait caster I ever used was for spinner baits. Maybe the occasional jerk bait.
