So I’ve watched you guys for the last 4 years. Love all of the information. But I have a couple questions about rod selection. I’ve got my hard wood and rock cover rods. But I fish a lot of public ponds most of which are covered in brush that I have to truck through. But the cover is mostly grass with either a soft bottom or loose rock. My issue is rod selection. I’m wanting to drop down to a 6’10 or 6’9 in length but I feel like power and action do not act the same as compared to my 7’6 and slightly noticeable difference in 7’0. Any suggestions appreciated.

How heavy do you typically go for your jigs? I was given a handful of 1 oz jigs and wasn't sure if those would be to heavy or not.
How heavy of a jig would you throw on a heavy rod?
