Great video and good idea however remember that the breaking strain on the lower nymph will be around 50% of the line class where as the top nymph will be about 75%. Using a double surgeons knot gives around 80% strength on both tag ends. Irrelevant with small fish I know but if you bump into a trophy on light line it's the knots that fail first.
Excellent instructional video! Well done. Simple and to the point. I also upload instructional videos on Fly Tying. I found a long time ago to make them simple and to the point. Good job. Best regards, Richard Katzman Fly Tying.
great video. learned a few things. my question: what happens when the depth of the water changes and you have the thingamabob attached, then how do you quickly adjust the length from the float to the nymphs? say you go from fishing 6' to 6", which happens all the time. problem: thingamabob will crimp your line and can break lighter test line. now you have to re-tie?
That curl from the reel line mono is called memory.. nice point about trying to staighten it out. All reels of all kind will get memory built up over time
Well done video, but it seems you lose a lot of your leader tippet when you decide to change nymphs. Unless I'm missing something. Does make things a lot easier and quicker. Grant that.
Dude if you are going to add all of this crap to your line just go bait fishing , I go nymph fishing but without an indicator or bobber or weights and will catch just as many if not more fish than you will with your bait fishing tech , this is not really fly fishing it is lure fishing !!
Just found this nymphing video. Crush all barbs and you won't need a net. The clinch knot is not good and the improved clinch knot is much better. Bobber fishing is a great method for a bream pole, or if you can't cast a fly rod. I really like the scud.
hey if there’s anybody out there that can help because i’m pretty new to fly fishing and i don’t like to nymph because my fly always gets caught on the rocks on the bottom so if there’s any tips pls help! thanks!
What lb test are you using? And I thought I was the only person the uses the tag end of tying on the first fly instead of tying onto the first flys hook to attach the second fly but turns out others do, nice video. Tight lines and goodluck
When I move my indicator up and down it junks up my leader, so how do I straighten it? I tried a leather/rubber straightener but the line won't pull through the straightener.
Great video. I've fly fished for a long time, and one concept I've struggled a bit with setting the indicator 1.5 times the depth of the water being fished. It seems like to get a dead drift with the flies right under the indicator, wouldn't you want to set the indicator the same depth as the water, or maybe just a little shallower?
Great video, thank you! That's a good point that dry fly is not the best one to get started. Although you hear people praise it. Nymphing is so much easier to get started with. And when you get those first few catches, it's much more fun to keep learning more 😀

I was hearing the cheese burger birds in the background and it reminded me of Lake Tahoe
He looks like Adam Sandler
fly fishing is one fly and hooh without a hitch, everything else is fishing with float (Slovenija fly fishing )
Thank you for a good video it helped me
Very nice video. Great job. Good tips
Great video for clarifying every question I had about nypmhing.
Very clean and crisp video subscribed because of how well presented it was!
It’s cool to see that Adam Sandler fly fishes.
can I use a bead head nymph as my bottom fly?
Thanks man! Answered some questions I had always wondered while on the water but could never remember to ask.
Hank Patterson has a much better video on nymphing.
How heavy are your split shots
Wondering if you could get two fish at the same time with this setup? Ever see that before?

Thanks for the simplicity ! Made it easier for me as a novice.

Clear, practical and well done.

Always handle the trout with wet hands…if you dont it burns it and stresses it f
Absolutely awesome video, I appreciate the time you put into instructions! I can’t wait for November to give this a shot.
i wanna see how to fish with them not how to fuck with my line
Silly question, but what do you do with the nymphs when you're done fishing? Can you hook it back somewhere on the reel?
Great job. Thanks for the info

Tight lines and goodluck
Great info. Thanks sir!!

This guy must be related to Clint Eastwood.
