How about this…you tranq something, and carry it back to base. There, you keep it caged up, and feed it when it is calm, and deny it food when it is being aggressive. Every time you feed or deny, it imprints, like a baby in ARK. Cows and sheep should tame very fast. Horses slower, bears slower than that…the meanest predators tame the slowest. But none of them should take a very long time. This is a game.
