Your rod is too long, imo. I know it provides a good amount of shock absorption for huge fish but when you have the tip of your rod stick out two feet beyond the hole, and your line is kinked over the top edge at a sharp angle, at the time you need it most – when you are trying to coax that monster into the hole, you don't have that shock absorption anymore and you lose the fish at the hole.
